The Magic Pillow and the Sleepy Chickens

Once upon a time, in a cozy little house at the edge of a sunny meadow, lived a curious child named Sam. One rainy afternoon, Sam flopped onto the big, squishy pillow on their bed—and felt something soft and warm wobble beneath them!

Oof!” Sam exclaimed, tumbling off the pillow. To their astonishment, the pillow shook and wiggled… and then “QUACK!” Ten tiny chickens tumbled out and blinked their little feathered eyes.

Sam’s eyes grew wide. “Chickens? But… how?”

Before Sam could gather their thoughts, a gentle clucking filled the room. In marched a proud mother hen wearing a bright red ribbon around her neck. “Cluck-cluck! Hello, human,” she said in a kind, warm voice.

Sam’s jaw dropped. “A talking chicken… who can talk?”

The mother hen puffed out her chest. “I’m Mama Cluck, and these are my ten sleepy chicks. We’ve been snoozing in that pillow for ten whole years, dreaming of the day we’d stretch our wings again!”

The chicks lined up behind Mama Cluck, each one stretching its tiny wings. They yawned a great big yawn, then whispered to each other, “We’re hungry!”

Sam nodded. “Well, dinner time it is! But don’t worry—you’re all guests here.”

Together, Sam and Mama Cluck tiptoed into the kitchen. Sam peeled potatoes and cut them into strips, while Mama Cluck gathered corn kernels and sunflower seeds. Sam placed the potato strips gently in a pan to become golden French fries, and Mama Cluck mixed seeds with sweet corn for the chicks.

When everything was ready, they carried the plates back to the bedroom. The ten chicks chirped in delight as they nibbled their special seed-and-corn feast. Sam offered Mama Cluck the steaming fries, and she clucked gratefully.

Suddenly, two of the chicks tumbled over a tiny seed bowl. “Mine! No, mine!” they chirped, each tugging at opposite sides of the dish. But Mama Cluck quickly stepped between them. “There’s plenty for everyone,” she clucked wisely. “Sharing makes everything better.”

The chicks calmed down, divided the seeds, and each took a turn thanking Sam with a tiny bow.

That night, Sam tucked Mama Cluck and her chicks back into the magic pillow. “Sleep tight,” whispered Sam. As the chickens snuggled in, the pillow glowed softly and hummed a merry little tune.

Sam climbed into bed, smiling. Who knew a simple pillow could hold an entire family of talking chickens? And as rain pattered on the window, Sam drifted off to sleep, dreaming of more marvelous adventures tomorrow.
